As you probably know, last week marked the 35th anniversary of the Fall of Saigon. In the aftermath, hundreds of thousands of Vietnamese fled the country and settled throughout the world, including the United States.

Maybe that includes you. Does your family have a story to share? CNN iReport has put a call out for stories about the Vietnamese experience after the Fall of Saigon: Your Vietnamese journey .

Because many documents were lost or detroyed after the war, there is little documentation on the exodus of boat people refugees from Vietnam. Groups like the Vietnamese American Heritage Foundation are making an effort to preserve that part of history by collecting oral histories and organizing online groups to collect photos.
