the veterano: filipino veterans tribute jacket by pnoy apparel

This is extremely cool: The Veterano jacket by PNOY Apparel, honoring the 250,000 Filipino veterans who fought on behalf of the United States during World War II. For their service, they were promised citizenship and full veterans benefits, only to see that promise broken by the Recission Act in 1946.

After over sixty decades of fighting for compensation and recognition for their service to this country, last year's Stimulus Bill included a provision giving lump-sum payments of $15,000 to Filipino veterans who are American citizens and $9,000 to those who are non-citizens.

For every Veterano jacket sold online, PNOY Apparel will donate 10% to JFAV (Justice for Filipino American Veterans). But they're extremely limited -- only 300 made -- so if you want one, act fast. For more information about PNOY Apparel, and to see their other designs, go here. (Thanks, Stephen.)
