far east movement is on yahoo, public radio, everywhere.

Hey! Look who made it on to the front page of Yahoo! None other than our friends, the chart-topping electro hip hip group Far East Movement. Perhaps you've heard their song "Like a G6" on the radio: Far East Movement Explains Meaning Behind 'Like A G6.'.

This is a fairly big deal, considering that the Yahoo! home page is one of the most-trafficked pages on the web, with top content that's usually very safe, PG and middle America. So I guess it's kind of fitting that it's one of those articles that explains what the heck a 'G6' is.

Oliver Wang's also got a great piece in the Los Angeles Times on Far East Movement's unprecedented, not-so-overnight breakthrough success, looking back at the legacy of Asian American musicians that paved the way for them: Behind Koreatown's Far East Movement, a deep history.

On a similar note, check out Todd Inoue's radio piece for KQED's "Perspectives," talking about why he's loving this moment, and why the success of FM's seemingly disposable pop tune is an unexpected watershed moment of Asian Americans. You know Far East Movement has reached the big time when they're being discussed on public radio.
