surprise, surprise: racist scottish soccer fans

I am shocked, totally shocked, to hear about racist behavior by Scottish football fans. I just can't believe it. Actually, I can. I expect it. And in this case, St. Johnstone footy fans are accused of recently "woofing" and chanting "Who ate all the dogs?" at South Korean star Ki Sung-Yueng: Fans give Celtic star dog's abuse.

St Johnstone fans directed the sick abuse at the midfielder during their side's televised SPL clash on Saturday.

Anti-racism campaigners last night said they were "appalled" by the taunts - a reference to the use of pooches in Korean cuisine.

And they called on the cops, the Perth club and football chiefs to punish the louts responsible.

Celtic defender Cha Du-Ri also accused the Saints fans of being racist, by making MONKEY noises at his 21-year-old Korean team-mate, right.

He said: "When Ki had the ball, two supporters jumped up and started making monkey noises.
Seriously, is anyone really surprised by this news? Asshole soccer fans. Not so revolutionary. I am dismayed, but not so shocked, to learn that there's actually a campaign called "Show Racism the Red Card" designed to combat bigotry in the sport. It's that bad. That's racist!
