Heads up, New York film fans. The 36th Annual Asian American International Film Festival, the longest running festival in the country devoted to films by and about Asians and Asian Americans, recently announced its full lineup. The festival runs July 24 through August 3. Want to win some free tickets? Read your way down to the end of this post. First, here's the official AAIFF'13 trailer:
AAIFF'13 will showcase films with several themes, including: Asian American Achievements, Exploring Asian Filmscapes, LGBTQ spotlights, Taiwan Cinema Days, and a tribute to Philippine filmmaker Marilou Diaz-Abaya (1955-2012) as well as other female filmmakers. See the full lineup here.
The festival's special presentations include the Opening Night Presentation of Linsanity, directed by Evan Jackson Leong; the Centerpiece Presentation Soongava - Dance of the Orchids, directed by Subarna Thapa; and the Closing Night Presentation of Our Homeland, directed by Yang Yonghi. AAIFF's Opening and Closing Presentations will be followed by Gala receptions at the Asia Society. Tickets are on sale now.
