aaja sf's "east west eats" fundraiser

If you're in the Bay Area, here's a cool AAJA event happening this weekend, for a good cause... The San Francisco Bay Area chapter of the Asian American Journalists Association is throwing a fundraiser, East West Eats, featuring some of the region's top chefs, and benefiting its scholarship program, which awards up to $15,000 a year in scholarships to aspiring student journalists. The Asian American Journalists Association presents East West Eats, a showcase of the Bay Area's finest Asian cuisine. Pioneering TV chef Martin Yan will be performing cooking demonstrations at the event, which also features a menu of food from over a dozen top local restaurants, wine, tea, entertainment, and more.

The culinary fundraiser will feature a spectacular menu of fine Asian cuisine from more than a dozen restaurants, including Betelnut, Shanghai 1930, Slanted Door, Maharani, Urban Tavern, Poleng Lounge, Ponzu, Napa Silverado, Hilton San Francisco, Crustacean, Urban Tavern, Butterfly and Le Colonial.

East West Eats is a fundraiser for the chapter's student journalism scholarships. As part of its commitment to promote diversity in newsrooms, the group awards up to $15,000 a year in scholarships to aspiring student journalists.

Tickets: $65 for AAJA members and $75 for nonmembers before June 14. Prices are $75 for AAJA members and $85 for nonmembers at the door the day of the event.
