asian americans for equality's community development fellowship

Students! Here's a great opportunity to get involved within your community. In Flushing, Asian American for Equality recently announced its city-wide Community Development Fellowship Program which will train and engage college-aged youth to connect with careers in community development.

The Fellowship focuses on community development issues facing Asian American communities in New York City, such as affordable housing, small business development, transportation, civil rights, policy advocacy, and environmental sustainability.

Fellows will learn about the field of community development from a variety of perspectives through interactive workshops, mentorship opportunities and internship placements.

The Fellowship is open to all recent high school graduates and college students in the New York metropolitan area who have an interest in and commitment to community development, which includes the fields of urban planning, sustainable development, entrepreneurship, public policy, and community organizing, among others.

For more information about the Fellowship, and to download application materials, go to the AAFE website here. The deadline to apply is September 24.
