internship opportunity: 2012 asian american international film festival

The Asian American International Film Festival, presented by Asian CineVision, is now accepting applications for summer 2012 interns, who will assist in the production, promotion and coordination of all aspects of the 35th AAIFF, opening July 25, 2012 in New York City.

Interns are expected to commit 2-3 days a week, late May through mid August, including full-time and some weekends for the length of the festival, July 23 - August 5. This sounds like a great opportunity for folks interested in learning the inner workings of an Asian American film festival. Here's the list of available positions:
Development Assistant

Assist Festival Director with procurement of sponsorships, drafting grant proposals, membership outreach, and creative strategizing for grassroots fundraising campaign.

Design/Web Assistant

Design collateral marketing materials for festival. Ensure consistent, quality branding in all aspects of design. Help manage and regularly update the ACV and Festival sites. Work closely with Festival staff on various levels of production. Candidate must have experience in graphic design, interactive, or web design.

Special Events & Volunteer Coordinator

Coordinate, plan, and on-site manage festival special events and after parties with Festival Director. Strategize, coordinate, and lead festival volunteer program with assistance from lead volunteers.

Social Media & Web Coordinator

Assist with internet-based public relations and promotion for the AAIFF. Candidate should have familiarity with social media platforms and willingness to learn about APA online media outlets.

Outreach Coordinator

Maintain or establish relationships with various community organizations, universities, schools, and clubs for special/promotional events and co-hosting screenings. Candidate should have an interest in the Asian American community and grassroots organizing.

Box Office Coordinator

Coordinate and assist with all aspects of ticket sales. Prior experience in project coordination, special events, or sales preferred.
