What took so long?



On Tuesday, Louisiana governor Bobby Jindal announced that he is dropping out of the presidential race, much to the disappointment of his four supporters. At this point, the only people who are surprised about his withdrawal are the people who are only now realizing that he had been running for president all this time.

"This is not my time," Jindal told Fox News. "I've come to the realization that this is not my time. So I've come here to announce that I am suspending my campaign for president of the United States."

Bobby Jindal has ended his presidential campaign. Let's be honest: it never really started.

From the very start, Jindal's doomed presidential campaign failed to gain any kind of meaningful traction, kicking off in June with a super-awkward, tepid hidden camera video of him and and his wife Supriya sitting the kids down to break the news that he was running. They seemed less than enthused. Maaaan, if you can't get your own kids to get excited about a run for president, you're probably in trouble.

Louisiana governor Bobby Jindal has announced that he is running for President of the United States in 2016. Jindal, who is Indian American, joins a crowded field of Republican candidates vying for the White House.

Jindal, who is the 13th Republican candidate to join the race for President, is the first nonwhite governor of Louisiana since Reconstruction. He was once touted by many in his party as the future of the GOP, but over time he has seen his approval numbers plummet in his state.

This week, a Wall Street Journal/NBC News poll found Jindal at the bottom of a list of 16 candidates. In pretty much everyone's opinion -- even Jindal's supporters -- his candidacy is a longshot.

But Bobby's gonna do what he's gotta do. Starting with this really weird video, posted on Jindal's campaign website, of him and his wife, Supriya, breaking the news to their kids that he's running for Prez. To make it all extra awkward, the whole thing is recorded on a hidden camera.

Maybe Bobby Jindal shouldn't do State of the Union commentary

Before President Obama took the podium to deliver his State of the Union address, Louisiana governor Bobby Jindal hopped on Twitter to publicly denounce and dismiss Obama's speech, offering his version of a summary that absolutely nobody asked for. He even smugly signed it off with "Your welcome."

Um, you mean "you're." Classic.
