Hey Student Journalists! Apply for JCamp 2016

AAJA is accepting applications for its annual multicultural journalism training program for high school students.



The Asian American Journalists Association is accepting applications for JCamp, an all-expenses-paid annual multicultural journalism training program for talented high school students of diverse backgrounds.

The program will celebrate its 16th year in 2016 at the George Washington University School of Media and Public Affairs in Washington, DC, August 1-6. The six-day camp brings students together for intensive training in writing, photography, broadcast, online media and reporting led by professional journalists.

JCamp is free and open to current freshmen, sophomores and juniors in high school. Students of all races and ethnicities are encouraged to apply. Here's some more information about the program:

Attention young leaders! Are you interested in empowering your community through voter engagement and community organizing? Asian Americans Advancing Justice - Los Angeles invites you to the Community Engagement Academy 2014, a three-day community organizing and voter training geared towards building power in Asian America, Native Hawaiian and Pacific Islander communities in Southern California.

Three-day intensive digital strategy training, August 8-10 in Washington DC



Are you interested in building critical online organizing skills to strengthen your digital advocacy and on-the-ground organizing? Then apply to participate in the first national AAPI Digital Leadership Weekend, an online organizing training program for Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders.

The Brain Trust, a digital strategy startup for AAPI change-makers, has partnered with the New Organizing Institute to bring you knowledge and expertise from top practitioners in digital, data, and technology. The intensive, three-day training is happening August 8-10 in downtown Washington DC.
