more on that angry asian man play

The other day I posted a casting call for this play 3 Days, 3 Girls and an Angry Asian Man (no relation to me) that's currently in the works to go up this summer. A couple of readers who have encountered the project sent in a few more details. Here's part of the synopsis:
3 Days, 3 Girls, and An Angry Asian Man is a comedy in three acts set in present day New York with a cast of fifteen (six of whom can be double cast). The play is a classic girl-meets-world story that centers around three girls in their early twenties who have moved to New York to "make it" in show business. After three months in the city, Jessie, Reagan, and Lydia have failed to find jobs, fame, or a clue. They have managed to obtain a fairly decent apartment on the Upper West Side, thanks to Lydia, the more promiscuous of the three, who has been sleeping with the landlord, Mr. Nguyen, fairly frequently in lieu of rent. All hell breaks loose when Mr. Nguyen starts banging on the front door and Reagan and Jessie realize Lydia is having loud sex with their neighbor from apartment 2B. Mr. Nguyen discovers Lydia's indiscretion and gives the girls three days to come up with the rent or get out. Desperate and on the verge of homelessness, the girls throw themselves haplessly at the feet of Jessie's father, who is in New York City on a business trip. Ever disapproving of his daughter's life decisions, he makes them a deal: get jobs in three days, and he'll give them the full amount for the rent. With renewed energy and hope, the girls try desperately to do what they've never tried to do before: get acting jobs.
Hilarity supposedly ensues as the trio goes through all sorts of craziness to get acting jobs. It sounds pretty bad. I've also gotten a glance at the script, and the Mr. Nguyen nonsense is rather awful. He's only in it for a couple scenes, but he seems to have been largely inspired by Mr. Yunioshi from Breakfast at Tiffany's and/or Mr. Chow from The Hangover.

While the title bears my blog's name, I'm fairly certain I won't be in the audience to see this play. I'm just curious about the poor guy who will end up playing the Angry Asian Man.
