'Ktown Cowboys' hits theaters on March 18

Bro-mantic dramedy opens in limited release in Los Angeles, New York, San Francisco and Virginia.

The boys are back. Ktown Cowboys, the cult hit webseries that became a feature film, hits theaters in limited release this week, opening Friday, March 18 in Los Angeles, New York, San Francisco and Fairfax, Virginia. The film will also be available for download on iTunes and other VOD platforms on March 25.

Directed by Daniel "DPD" Park and written by Danny Cho, the bro-mantic dramedy follows a group of ball-busting hard-partying friends wrestling with their evolution into adulthood. As their individual struggles come to light, the group of friends band together in Koreatown and through late nights at seedy after-hour soju bars, karaoke drinking girls and even a stint in jail, each emerges as a better version of himself.

Help make Big Phony's next album

Singer/songwriter Bobby Choy is raising funds for his sixth full-length album.

My friend Bobby Choy, who makes amazing music as singer/songwriter Big Phony, is putting the call out for help to raise funds through Kickstarter to record his next full-length album.

These days, Bobby's been kicking it in Korea and has written more than 70 songs since his last release. While nearly all of Bobby's stuff has had that lo-fi recorded-in-his-bedroom ultra-indie hustle quality, he's still released some fantastic tunes. (If you haven't heard his 2014 albums Bobby or Long Live the Lie, you gotta.)

But for his sixth album, Big Phony is aiming to get into a legit studio and record on real hi-fi gear. With the guidance of fellow singer/songwriter Goh Nakamura, he's come up with a reasonable plan and a modest budget to make it happen -- with our assistance, of course.

Bobby explains more in this video:

'Bobby' and 'Long Live The Lie' by Big Phony

New acoustic and electronic albums from singer/songwriter Bobby Choy

My friend Bobby Choy, who makes amazing sensitive singer/songwriter music as Big Phony, just released not one, but two new albums, the acoustic folk flavored Bobby and the new wave/electronic-inclined Long Live the Lie. I've been a fan of Big Phony for years, but this time he's really topped himself.

One of my favorite songs is "Bedford Stop," which is about an imaginary hipster sister. Bobby says he was wondering what it would be like if he had a sister: "She would probably be too cool for me and would live somewhere hip like Williamsburg. She would probably want nothing to do with me. I'd still love her though."

You can preview both albums. Take a good long listen:
