"Go back to Asia and eat a dog."

21-year-old man jumped, beaten in hate crime assault at OC Night Market.

Hate crime alert. Orange County authorities are searching for a white couple who assaulted a 21-year-old Asian American college student in the parking lot of a recent OC Night Market event in Costa Mesa, following an earlier incident in which one of the assailants told the victim, "Go back to Asia and eat a dog."

Asian Man Assaulted By White Couple After Racist Taunts in Costa Mesa

The altercation started on Sunday evening when two white women approached the victim, who was standing in line, and tried to get him to buy them drinks. When he refused, one of the women told him to "Go back to Asia and eat a dog," among other not-so-nice remarks. Because, yes, racist taunts are the totally reasonable response to someone refusing to buy you drinks.

She reportedly got up in the victim's face and when he pushed her away for some space, another man charged and punched him in the face. Security responded and escorted the couple out of the OC Night Market.

But later that evening, as the victim and his girlfriend were walking back to his car after the event, he was confronted and attacked by the duo we will from this point on refer to as the Violently Racist Couple. They had apparently been waiting for him to leave, followed him back to his car, and jumped him.

"The moment I got to my car, a black sedan pulled up," the victim, who wishes to remain anonymous, tells the OC Weekly. "The guy immediately went after me and everything else was a blur."

The victim suffered bruises and lacerations to his face requiring stitches, and several chipped teeth. The victim's girlfriend was also punched in the face when she tried to intervene. According to witnesses, the Violently Racist Couple drove off in a black sedan, but not before the guy yelled some more anti-Asian slurs while hanging out of the passenger side window. Well, that's classy as shit.

The victim's friend posted details about assault on Facebook, along with a photo from the emergency room.

Dogs in a Chinese restaurant? It's not what you think.

But the San Antonio Express-News led many to believe a Chinese eatery was serving up something gross.

Over the weekend, the San Antonio Express-News posted a bland weekly roundup on local restaurant inspections. One of them included an area Chinese restaurant, Lee's Garden Chinese Restaurant, where an inspector saw a dog on the premises. Like, somebody's pet. Perhaps not particularly sanitary, depending on where the dog was hanging out, but whatever. It got the necessary citation.

However, when the restaurant inspection report was posted to the San Antonio Express-News' Facebook page on Saturday, they used the headline "Inspectors Find Dogs in Chinese Restaurant" accompanied by a photo of food. The insinuation, of course, is that the Chinese restaurant was caught serving dog meat.

When you click through to the article, the actual headline on mysanantonio.com simply reads "San Antonio restaurant inspections: February 17, 2017." The report notes that "roaches and dogs were seen in the establishment." And that's it. (Okay, the roaches are gross.) That was apparently all they needed to put together a racist, misleading Facebook post. Guaranteed to get some clicks.

Of course, nobody actually reads anything. The misleading headline inspired a deluge of Facebook comments along the lines of "Ooh hell no I just had Chinese last night... Mfs trynna kill us" and "Fuck Chinese lol."

Misguided Protesters Target NYC's Chinatown Over Dog Meat Festival in China

Since 2009, one festival in China has caused a stir in the animal rights community. The festival -- the Yulin Lychee and Dog Meat Festival -- was inaugurated that year, and immediately resurrected controversy over the ethics of consuming dog meat. Pictures of dogs crammed into tiny wire cages have shocked netizens for the last several years, along with reports that as many as 10,000 dogs are slaughtered annually at the festival.

The festival -- which is not sanctioned by the local government -- is intended to celebrate a centuries-old tradition in parts of China where dog meat is considered a delicacy. Government officials insist that the festival is attended by a small minority of local residents. This doesn't stop outraged animal rights activists, however, from protesting the festival as outrageous and unethical.

Oregon politician claims Vietnamese refugees ate dogs

Lane County Commissioner Faye Stewart complains "their culture and their lifestyle didn't mix with ours."

You know what happens when we allow refugees into this country? They'll eat your cats and dogs! Take it from one Oregon politician who claims that Vietnamese refugees who came to the area years ago "harvested" people's pets for food "because their culture and lifestyle didn't mix with ours."

Oregon Senate Candidate Complains About Vietnamese Refugees Eatings Dogs

Faye Stewart, a Republican candidate for the U.S. Senate in Oregon made the comments while discussing the current Syrian refugee crisis during a GOP candidate forum. He was apparently telling a story about Vietnamese refugees first arriving to the Pacific Northwest in large numbers in the late 1970s and early '80s.

"[W]e took in some refugees," Stewart recalled. "I believe it was some Vietnamese refugees into this state years ago and it created a huge problem because their culture and their lifestyle didn't mix with ours."

Among other things, Stewart claimed that the Vietnamese refugees "went to their natural ways" and ate people's dogs and cats.

Mike Huckabee thinks he's funny, tweets racist dog joke

"I trust Bernie Sanders with my tax dollars like I trust a North Korean chef with my labrador!"

I considered simply titling this post "Fuck You, Mike Huckabee." But that's just a regular, everyday sentiment. This post concerns a joke that the Republican presidential candidate posted during Tuesday night's Democratic debate. On Twitter, the former Arkansas made a racist crack while criticizing Senator Bernie Sanders:

Tiësto goes to Korea, can't resist tweeting dog-eating jokes

"Wonder if thy have McDog at McDonald's here as well"

Electronic music artist Tiësto is currently on tour, making his way through Asia. Last night he was in Seoul... which, of course, meant he had to make a Twitter joke about eating dogs. He just could not resist! I mean, you're an asshole DJ dude in Korea, so that's what you have to do, right? I wonder how long he waited before he got off the plane. First the tweet above, then followed up with this one to his 2 million+ followers:
