Wait, a Hollywood remake of a remake of an Asian horror movie... starring an actual Asian person? Actually starring John Cho, actually. In this trailer for the upcoming new take on The Grudge, we see Cho as a real estate agent named Peter Spencer arriving at a spooky house and inspecting a really yucky bathtub. Later, we see poor Peter taking a shower... and more yucky things happen. Dude needs some new shampoo.

Have to show some crowdfund love to friends makin' a movie... Crush the Skull, from actor/co-writer Chris Dinh and co-writer/director Viet Nguyen, is described as a "scary, darkly funny, popcorn, horror movie." Or, in a nutshell, "burglars vs. serial killer." All they key personnel are in place, and they're aiming to shoot this summer. Now they're raising the cash to make it happen.

The film is actually a hybrid of Chris and Viet's two award-winning short films, Crush the Skull and Things You Don't Joke About. Watch this video for some more info about the project and to get a feel for the tone:

Haven't had a chance to post something about this, but I am way weirded out by this movie news... Sony Pictures is making a horror film based on the mysterious death of Canadian tourist Elisa Lam, whose body was found inside a rooftop water tank in downtown Los Angeles.

Lam, 21, was missing for several weeks before her body was discovered on the roof of the Cecil Hotel. Her death was ruled an accidental drowning, but hotel elevator surveillance video that showed Lam acting oddly -- plus the hotel's infamous past -- fueled wild internet conspiracy theories about how she died.

The Bringing, a horror script written by Brandon and Philip Murphy, is inspired by the strange circumstances behind Lam's death, and the grisly, sordid history of the Cecil Hotel:
