CHOPS presents Strength in Numbers

Asian American music collaboration features "more names than you can fit in your homie's Honda Civic"



Heads up. Strength In Numbers, the Asian American music project from celebrated producer CHOPS, drops this week. Chops, a founding member of the pioneering hip hop group Mountain Brothers, has assembled thirty different artists for one epic album collaboration. Maybe you heard about the Kickstarter campaign. Maybe you slept on that. No matter. The album is now available on iTunes and Amazon.

The album features "more names than you can fit in your homie's Honda Civic": Ann One, Baiyu, Bambu, Catzie of Yellow Rage, Connie Lim, Decipher, DJ Bonics, DJ Neil Armstrong, DJ Roli Rho, Dumbfoundead, El Gambina, Erika David, Hopie, Hoya, J-Key, Joanlee, Kiwi, Lil Crazed, Matt Cab, Mic Barz, Mountain Brothers, Nikko Dator, Paul Kim, Prometheus Brown, Rekstizzy, Rocky Rivera, Ruby Ibarra, Tasha aka Yoonmirae, Thai, Tiger JK, Timothy Flu, Verbal of M-Flo / Teriyaki Boyz, and Yellow Boyz.

Strength in Numbers is a groundbreaking Asian American music project that could use your help. Masterminded by CHOPS, producer and founding member of the pioneering hip hop group Mountain Brothers, the forthcoming album is a massive collaboration bringing together over thirty Asian American rappers and singers from all around the United States (with special guests from Japan and Korea).

On Sunday, I had the honor of meeting rapper/producer Scott "Chops" Jung, member of the pioneering hip hop group Mountain Brothers and the mastermind behind the upcoming music project Strength in NUMBERS.

For the past two years, Chops has been working on this epic collaboration bringing together dozens of emcees and singers from across the United States and beyond. Just thought I'd throw out another plug for their Kickstarter, because it's cool project that deserves some of your funding love.

Groundbreaking group reunites for Asian American music project's lead single



Hell yeah. It's on. Pioneering Asian American hip hop group Mountain Brothers recently got back together for a new track, "Keep On," the lead single from the upcoming compilation project Strength in Numbers.

Once upon a time back in the day, the Mountain Brothers were the first Asian American rap group ever signed to a major label. Here, Chops, Peril-L and Styles Infinite are back together, with the vocal assist from Ann One, to show you what's up. Check out the music video:

Hit producer Chops, who once upon a time made music as part of the pioneering hip hop trio the Mountain Brothers, has spent the last two years working on Strength in Numbers, an epic collaboration with over 30 Asian American artists from across the U.S. (with special appearances from Japan and Korea) -- including former cohorts Peril-L and Styles Infinite.

That's right -- Mountain Brothers reunion!
