Congressional candidate wants to 'Make America White Again'

Rick Tyler is running for Tennessee's 3rd Congressional District.

At least you know where he's coming from. In Tennessee, a congressional candidate has put his own spin on Donald Trump's inane campaign slogan with a billboard that calls to "Make America White Again."

'Make America White Again': A politician's billboard ignites uproar

Rick Tyler, an independent candidate in the race for Tennessee's 3rd congressional district, put up the billboard off Highway 411 in Polk County, prompting a wave a criticism. It has since been taken down.

Tyler claims he has no hatred in his heart for "people of color," and believes that American should go back to a "1960s, Ozzie and Harriet, Leave it to Beaver time when there were no break-ins; no violent crime; no mass immigration." So he's citing fictional TV programs while yearning for an era that never actually existed.

In a Facebook post, Tyler elaborates, explaining that "It was an America where doors were left unlocked, violent crime was a mere fraction of today's rate of occurrence, there were no car jackings, home invasions, Islamic Mosques or radical Jihadist sleeper cells." He actually calls it "Norman Rockwell America."

File Under Badass: Donut shop owner fights off armed robbers with pepper spray

These guys did not know who they were messing with.

This story out Tennessee is a couple of weeks old, but hey, I thought you'd really want to know about the badass donut shop owner who fought off three armed robbers with pepper spray -- and it was all caught on tape: Caught On Camera: Donut Shop Owner Pepper Sprays Armed Robbers.

Earlier this month, three would-be robbers walked into Nina's Donut Cafe in Southeast Memphis and pulled a gun on owner Sohka Chin, demanding all the money in the cash register. Big fat mistake, suckas.

Instead of money, Chin gave them each a face full of hurt, courtesy of the can of pepper spray she conveniently keeps in arm's reach from the register. She got all three of the guys in the face, and they ran off crying.

The whole incident was caught on surveillance video. Here's the news clip:

Market receives cash and letter apologizing for robbery

"I hope you will accept this money and find forgiveness."

This is pretty cool... You hope it never happens, but groceries and convenience stores have to face the reality that getting robbed is a possibility. It happens. But you never expect the robber to come back, apologize, and return the money: Apology letter begins, 'I am a drug addict,' seeks forgiveness for robbery.

About twelve years ago, the owners of the InterAsian Market Deli in Nashville were robbed at gunpoint. The robber threatened them with a handgun and made off with all the cash in the register, but nobody was hurt.

Last week, Somboon Wu and his father Keosavanh Xayarath, who were working at the store on the night of the robbery, were handed one hell of a surprise: an envelope with $400 cash and an apology letter, dropped off by an anonymous man -- an apparent attempt to make amends for the 12-year-old robbery:
