all together now: 2010 census family portrait contest

Look at all the gorgeous Asians Americans who are making sure the count! Babies, kids, school board members, CAAM staff, Racebending activists, and even toy Bruce Lees -- everybody counts! (Maybe not the action figures.) Don't you want to get in on this? Tomorrow is the last day to submit a photo. Read on for details (and to see more photos)...

In an effort to increase awareness about the Census, we're doing a little giveaway. This week, send me a photo of you (and/or members of your household -- mom, dad, the kids, the whole family!) holding up your Census form, like in the photos above. If you've already sent in your form, hold up a sign that says "I COUNT" or "WE COUNT." (We'll operate on the honor system. I trust you.)

Every day, I'll try to post the photos here (depending on how many I actually receive), to create a fun little Census family portrait gallery. At the end of the week, I'll pick ten entries at random. The lucky winners will receive a limited edition Angry Asian Man t-shirt, courtesy of our pal Jerry Ma at Epic Proportions. (Sorry, one t-shirt prize per household.)

Email me your photo by the end of Thursday, April 1, along with your name, mailing address and t-shirt size (Epic has women's sizes too). Please include "MY CENSUS PHOTO" in the subject line. Good luck, spread the word, and make sure you send in those Census forms! For more information about APIs and the 2010 Census, go to API Count and Fill in Our Future.
