Joel Kim Booster developing comedy 'Birthright' for Fox

Booster will write and star in a single-camera comedy inspired by his own life.

Oooh, I would watch this. Fox has put in development Birthright, a single-camera comedy from writer/comedian Joel Kim Booster, based in part on his own life as a Korean American adoptee.

Written by and starring Booster, Birthright centers on "a child born in South Korea before being adopted by white, Midwestern evangelical parents. When it comes apparent to all involved that he's gay, the young fish out of water goes in search of his birth mother in the hope they can reconnect."

Booster will also serve as a co-executive producer on the project alongside Jax Media's Tony Hernandez and Lilly Burns. According to the Deadline, the project originated as a presentation, which 20th Century Fox Television execs really liked and took the comedy in for development.

He has written on Billy On The Street and the pilot Problematic With Moshe Kasher, and has appeared as an actor on the web series The Outs and the 2013 feature And They Call It Puppy Love.

You may have caught him performing standup earlier this year on Conan, where he totally killed.

This sounds great. If Birthright eventually gets made, count me in.
