The New York Mets have sent pitcher Chan Ho Park to the minors leagues, optioning him to Class AAA New Orleans: Mets Settle Their Roster, Sending Park to the Minors. It seems that he didn't have much time to prove himself as a reliever before they sent him down. Because Park has accrued five years of service, he did have the right to turn down an assignment to the minor leagues. But he said he accepted the option because he was excited at the chance to start for New Orleans and, he hoped, to be the first pitcher recalled in case of an injury.
