american cinematheque's tribute to wayne wang

Kind of short notice, but here's a cool screening opportunity for folks in Los Angeles... I just learned that the latest two films from Wayne Wang, A Thousand Years of Good Prayers and Princess of Nebraska, were screening this week at American Cinematheque at the Aero Theatre in Santa Monica as a tribute to the veteran director.

A Thousand Years of Good Prayers played last night, along with a new cut of 1985's Dim Sum: A Little Bit of Heart. You missed that one, but Princess of Nebraska screens tonight, along with 1997's Chinese Box (blech).

Wayne Wang will be at the screening in person for a discussion in between the films. It's tonight, August 7, at 7:30pm. For more information, visit the American Cinematheque website: Wayne Wang In-Person Tribute.
