A Village Called Versailles
With Director Leo Chiang Present for Discussion

Friday, July 30, 2010 7pm Free

East Side Arts Alliance
2277 International Blvd
Oakland, CA

This film is the empowering story of how the Viet community in New Orleans turned the disaster of Hurricane Katrina into a catalyst for community organizing.

What lessons does it hold for Viets now facing the devastation of their livelihoods from the BP oil catastrophe?

After the film, we'll have a short discussion, including the director Leo Chiang, and other Vietnamese-American activists who have recently come back from trips to the Gulf Coast to help the Vietnamese community with legal information and more.

Please join us! Free food is provided. Donations will go to support Viet Gulf Coast Solidarity Network.
Director Leo Chiang will be in attendance. This screening will be particularly unique because it will specifically address the Vietnamese American community post-oil spill, with proceeds going to the Viet Gulf Solidarity Network. Stay for the afterparty! For more information, go to the Facebook event page here.
