I recently heard from my friend, actor Raymond Lee, who is producing a comedy web series called Thank You... Next, a mockumenary about the casting on a Broadway show. He describes it as "sort of like Summer Heights High meets Every Little Step." The first three episodes are online now. Here's episode one:
As you can see, it's a lot of backstage humor making fun of the audition process. Raymond himself is a working Broadway actor, and met co-creator Ben Gettinger during their stint together as cast members in Mamma Mia!, so I'm sure there's a lot of painful truth behind the jokes.
