the most typical person on the planet

Recognize this guy? It's possible. This is apparently the most "typical" human face. In the entire world. According to researchers, a 28-year-old, right-handed Han Chinese man is the most typical person on the planet. There are over 9 million of these guys: The most typical face on the planet.

This image is a composite of nearly 200,000 photos of men who fit this description, created for National Geographic's year-long new series on the human race, "Population 7 billion." Check out this cool accompanying video, which includes more fascinating global statistics:

Watching this, I can't help but be reminded of spoken word artist Beau Sia's eloquent rebuttal to Rosie O'Donnell's "ching chong" mocker on The View from a few years back, when he said:
"... realize that one day you're going to have to deal with this directly, and it's not going to be in the sheltered 'yes-men' environment of a talk show. Because regardless, prime time, the world that you live in predominantly looks like this."
And by "this," he means his own Chinese face. 9 million + strong, apparently. The point is not that we all look alike, but perhaps a reminder that this is the face that best represents mankind -- not the typical white male face that dominates most media images.

Get over it! The world's most typical person is a Chinese dude. But not quite so typical for long. If current global population trends continue, by the year 2030, the most typical person on the planet will eventually be represented a guy in India.
