angry reader of the week: ruby veridiano

Once again, my friends, it's time again to meet the Angry Reader of the Week, spotlighting you, the very special readers of this website. Over the years, I've been able to connect with a lot of cool folks, and this is a way of showing some appreciation and attention to the people who help make this blog what it is. This week's Angry Reader is Ruby Veridiano.

Who are you?
I'm Ruby Veridiano, a tall Filipina girl with a sunny disposition and a style sense I inherited from my mama.

What are you?
I'm a glamour girl off to change the world! I'm an artist, activist, and social entrepreneur championing women's empowerment and social change.

Where are you?
In the best coast/golden coast. California. (Katy Perry didn't lie about them Cali girls, ya heard.)

Where are you from?
I was born in Manila, and raised in California. I have a special place in my heart for Oakland, California.

What do you do?
I write, I create inspiring media, and I'm on a mission to contribute positively to the world. I wrote an e-book book called Miss Universe. I am the founder of the Glamourbaby Diaries, a writing program with a focus on women's empowerment and Asian American women's history explored through the lens of fashion. On September 19th, I'll be releasing a film that documents the first pilot launch of the Glamourbaby Diaries program in NYC. Soon, I'll be putting up my own YouTube channel, so stay tuned....

What are you all about?
My philosophy revolves around the idea that social good can be done in style, and that purpose is the new glamour. I have a passion for building the next generation of female leaders who have a purpose and mission to create positive social change. I especially love to serve Asian American communities, and working with young APIA women.

What makes you angry?
The fact that Asian-American women ages 15-24 have the highest suicide rate of women in any race or ethnic group in that age group. This statistic is what motivated me to create the Glamourbaby Diaries, to empower Asian American women as well as our female allies, to find their voice and rise above.
