Peter Kang named Paramount's Executive VP of Production

Some movie studio news... This week, Paramount Pictures announced the appointment of Peter Kang as Executive Vice President of Production: Former Fox Exec Peter Kang Joins Paramount.

Kang recently left 20th Century Fox, where he oversaw films like Rise of the Planet of the Apes and ran the studio's New York-based book division, handling the acquisitions of rights to Gillian Flynn's Gone Girl and Ransom Riggs' Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children:

Prior to his departure, he shepherded the film's sequel into production with Chernin Entertainment again producing.

In charge of New York book operations for Fox's main divison, Kang obtained for the studio the rights to such New York Times bestselling books as Gillian Flynn's wildly popular Gone Girl, which Reese Witherspoon will produce, as well as James Dashner's The Maze Runner and Ransom Riggs' Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children, among others.
