Angry Reader of the Week: Jes Vu

"I may be secretly (or not so secretly) Canadian."

Hey, internet. It is time, once again, to meet the Angry Reader of the Week, spotlighting you, the very special readers of this website. Over the years, I've been able to connect with a lot of cool folks, and this is a way of showing some appreciation and attention to the people who help make this blog what it is. This week's Angry Reader is Jes Vu.

Who are you?
Jes Vu. And yes, that's "Jes" with one "s" (it rhymes!) I know, I know, it's unusual. Misspelling on my birth certificate maybe?

What are you?
Vietnamese-American. I may be secretly (or not so secretly) Canadian. Other than that, I think I'm still trying to figure out that question myself.

Where are you?
On my couch in Los Angeles, catching up on some of my favorite TV shows on Hulu.

Where are you from?
Vancouver, Canada technically. But I was raised in the land of cheesesteaks, Rocky and Wawas...also known as southeast Pennsylvania.

What do you do?
I dabble around, maybe a bit of a jack-of-all-trades. I organize stuff whether as an assistant or as a film producer. I wish I was better at organizing my life as I do other people's life and projects. I also help out organize events with #WeOwnThe8th, an awesome Asian-American arts collective promoting Asian mixed media every 8th of the month (come join us!) I occasionally write for Kollaboration and write recaps for Nerd Reactor.

Also, I'm a total social media junkie -- @jesthevu.

What are you all about?
I love to connect good people together and see them soar. I'm trying to take my life not too seriously, trying to listen and grow from my mistakes. I'm constantly changing, constantly learning and hoping I become as good as a person I'm striving to be.

Also, I'm a bit of a geek. I sometimes end up rambling about TV and movies a little too much. Whoops.

What makes you angry?
Driving (I know, I know, what the hell am I doing in LA!?), moving my car in Los Angeles for early morning street cleaning days, passive aggressive people, when hipsters named banh mi dishes when there is no banh mi ("banh mi" means both "bread" and/or "sandwich" in Vietnamese), racism, sexism, among many other "-isms", lack of racial inclusion in the media...to name a few.
