Watch the new trailer for 'Voltron: Legendary Defender'

DreamWorks Animation's new take on 'Voltron' premieres June 10 on Netflix.

Ohhhhh yes. Hell yes. Netflix just dropped the trailer for Voltron: Legendary Defender, its upcoming revival of the classic 1980s cartoon. Like the original series, Legendary Defender follows a group of intrepid heroes who command five mechanical lions to defend the universe against evil, uniting to form the giant robot Voltron.

The voice cast includes Kimberly Brooks as Princess Allura; Rhys Darby as Coran; Josh Keaton as Shiro, Black Lion; Tyler Labine as Hunk, Yellow Lion; Jeremy Shada as Lance, Blue Lion; Bex Taylor-Klaus as Pidge, Green Lion; and Steven Yeun as Keith, Red Lion.

The all-new reimagined series is brought to you by executive producer Joaquim Dos Santos and co-executive producer Lauren Montgomery, the team behind The Legend of Korra and Avatar: The Last Airbender, who say their goal was to create a show that captured the spirit and memory of the original Voltron.

The truth is, if you go back and revisit the original show, which was re-edited, re-dubbed and cobbled together from the Japanese series Beast King GoLion, you'll probably find that it's not as good as you remember.

"We wanted to make it closer to what we remember the show being versus what it actually ends up being when you go back and watch it," Montgomery tells Entertainment Weekly.

Voltron kicks off June 10 on Netflix with an hour-long premiere, followed by ten 22-minute episodes.
