Angry Reader of the Week: Joshua Kwak

"Be patient with me I'm still sharpening my voice."

Hey, everybody! Let's get it together because it's time to meet the Angry Reader of the Week, spotlighting you, the very special readers of this website. Over the years, I've been able to connect with a lot of cool folks, and this is a way of showing some appreciation and attention to the people who help make this blog what it is. This week's Angry Reader is Joshua Kwak.

Who are you?

I'm a dude just trying to tell some honest stories, whether it be acting, writing, directing or producing. Be patient with me I'm still sharpening my voice. These though days though I've been cooking up a storm, might be a low key Michelin chef.

What are you?

I'm Korean American born and raised in Los Angeles. Considering Koreatown is so massive here it's kind of embarrassing how bad my Korean is, something that I've been reconciling with my upbringing. I'm super tight with my family in a way where we don't say it but just do things for each other, always.

Where are you?

I'm in Los Angeles, more specifically Koreatown, more more specifically my apartment hunkered down with hopefully what I consider 2 weeks of food, more more more specifically 2 weeks worth of Michelin food.

Where are you from?

I'm from Los Angeles, Tinsel town, grew up right behind the Culver Studios now Amazon Studios, by Sony Studios when it was MGM.

What do you do?

By day I do finance, and on free times I am an independent filmmaker.

What are you all about?

I'm all about love and growth, I wont lie I struggle all the time, but I think that's why I'm drawn to stories, to remind myself. I want to share and tell stories, I know that sounds super cliche, but it's so true. Maybe the best way to explain it for me is this, spending so much time trying to be stoic or having that as role models, you kind of forget you have a heart. Occasionally, you hear a podcast, read a book, or watch something that makes you bawl and reminds you that you have a heart and that you're human and to be patient and tender. That's what I want to remind people of.

What makes you angry?

Drivers that don't zipper, we need to take turns guys! It's funny my fiance will like jinx me in the car cause I'll always yell "just zipper guys!" I guess we both yell it these days and then I have to be quiet. Now, I've never done this, but if I dig into why this bothers me so much, I think it's cause it's like the most basic way to be selfish. I think especially now selfishness and self preservation is not what we need. I think what we need the most is each other.
