'KPop Demon Hunters' Sequel Officially a Go From Netflix

It's on. Kpop Demon Hunters is getting a sequel. There have been months of unconfirmed rumors and reports, but now it's officially official. Netflix has closed deals for directors Maggie Kang and Chris Appelhans to return for the sequel as part of a new, multi-year writing and directing pact. No word on when we can actually expect to see this sequel, but considering how long it takes to make animated movies, it's going to be at least a few years. But before they get to any of that, you can count on Kpop Demon Hunters collecting a couple of trophies this weekend at the Academy Awards.

The film focuses on the legendary martial artist's rise to superstardom in the years before his death. Rejected by Hollywood, Lee returned to Hong Kong to complete four films. Charting his struggles in two worlds, Be Water explores questions of identity and representation through rare archive, intimate interviews, and his writings.

More than 140 prominent Asian American and Pacific Islanders -- creatives, activists and academics -- announced their support Thursday for Democratic presidential candidate Senator Elizabeth Warren of Massachusetts. A24 re-teams with "Daniels" for Everything Everywhere All At Once
I'm pretty excited about this. A24 is re-teaming with filmmaker duo Daniel Kwan and Daniel Scheinert ("Daniels") for the sci-fi adventure comedy Everything Everywhere All At Once, which begins production in Los Angeles this week. It stars Michelle Yeoh, Stephanie Hsu, James Hong, Jonathan Ke Quan(!) and Jamie Lee Curtis. There's no word on the plot, but this is the team behind the farting corpse movie Swiss Army Man, and the masterpiece of a music video for "Turn Down For What." So yeah, I'm in.

Parasite Live to Picture, January 26
This is just cool as hell. On Sunday, January 26, the Academy Award nominated film Parasite will have its score performed live to picture at The Theatre at Ace Hotel in Los Angeles. Featuring 37 musicians, the Hollywood Chamber Orchestra will be conducted by Parasite composer, Jung Jaeil. Featuring an introduction by Oscar-nominated director Bong Joon Ho.

Lana Condor, last seen as Jubilee in X-Men: Apocalypse, is starring in the teen romantic comedy To All the Boys I've Loved Before, based on the novel by bestselling author Jenny Han.

Condor plays Lara Jean Covey, a romance novel buff who starts her junior year content to spend lunch in the library reading. Her love life goes from imaginary to out of control when her secret box of love letters is unexpectedly delivered to the various boys she's had crushes on throughout her life. To avoid confronting them, Lara Jean fakes a relationship with one of them -- but starts to realize that she may not be pretending.

The film, directed by Susan Johnson with a screenplay by Sofia Alvarez, has begun production in Vancouver.

John Corbett stars as Lara Jean's father, a single dad trying to raise three daughters on his own. Janel Parrish and Anna Cathcart will play Lara Jean's sisters. The cast also includes Noah Centineo, Israel Broussard and Andrew "King Bach" Bachelor.

And while we're at it, fellow X-fans, here's your first official look at Lana Condor as Jubilee in X-Men: Apocalypse. (We got an unofficial look when a few set photos leaked earlier this year.)

Jubilee is part of the new generation of students at Xavier's School for Gifted Youngsters. Described as "fashionable" -- just look at that totally awesome outfit, complete with the fan-favorite character's signature yellow jacket -- she possesses to the mutant ability to unleash colorful energy bursts.

You know what? I can't wait to see little Asian kids dress up like Jubilee for Halloween.

First Unofficial Look at Jubilee in 'X-Men: Apocalypse'

Set photos reveal an early glimpse of the teen mutant superhero's signature look.



Filming on the latest X-Men movie, X-Men: Apocalypse officially began in Montreal earlier this week, so a few photos from the set have inevitably trickled out to social media, giving X-fans an unofficial first glimpse at some of their favorite young mutant superheroes -- including Lana Condor as Jubilee.

As you can see, she is rocking Jubilee's signature yellow jacket. Those familiar with Jubilee's origin story will remember she was introduced in the pages of The Uncanny X-Men as a mutant teen mallrat.
