Police seek help identifying elderly Chinese woman

She only speaks Cantonese and was found wandering a residential neighborhood in Redondo Beach.



UPDATE: The elderly woman found wandering a residential neighborhood in Redondo Beach has been reunited with her family. After taking her to the hospital, staff with the Department of Adult Protective Services were able to locate the woman’s family and arrange for her to be picked up.

Heads up, Southern California... In Redondo Beach, police are asking for the public's assistance identifying an elderly Chinese woman who was found wandering a residential neighborhood on Thursday morning.

An elderly adult Chinese woman was found around 6:50 AM on Miramar Drive in Redondo Beach. She speaks only Cantonese and is between 80 and 90 years old, 4-foot-10-inches and between 80 and 90 pounds. She is wearing a tan shirt with light stripes, black pants and grey shoes.

There are big tippers, there are stingy tippers... and there are just plain assholes. Big fat middle finger to the asshole who left this "tip" for a waitress at a Southern California Thai restaurant.

After dining at Bamboo Thai Bistro in Redondo Beach, the customer wrote his server an anti-immigrant message , rather than a monetary tip, in the gratuity line of his check: "Tip for U.S. citizens only."

Maybe not, but something shady is going on at bebe.



Got this passed along to me from a friend of a friend, who gives us our latest edition of Racial Receipts.

A recent shopper at the clothing chain bebe was handed this receipt after buying an item. As you can see, the customer, who is Asian American, is identified on the receipt as "Yoko Ono." This is not the customer's name.

The transaction took place last week at the bebe location at South Bay Galleria in Redondo Beach, California. As you can see, the customer purchased a sleeveless tie-front top for $69.00 plus tax. She paid in cash. She apparently didn't even notice the name on the receipt until she got home.

Now that Jeremy Lin is packing his bags and headed for Los Angeles, he's going to need a place to hang his hat.
