New Music: "3am Apologies" by Mark Redito

R.I.P. Spazzkid

Spazzkid is no more. Los Angeles producer Mark Redito, who's been making awesome music under the moniker of Spazzkid for a minute, recently announced that he's now simply going by his given name.

Mark explained that part of the decision to transition his stage name was the consideration of "spaz" as a derogatory term, as well as changes in the general creative direction of his work.

Music Video: Beware the suitcase in Spazzkid's "Goodbye"

Mark Redito's prequel to "40 Winks" takes a dark turn.

Los Angeles-based beatmaker Mark Redito makes beautiful, dreamy, upbeat electronic music as Spazzkid. He recently released a new music video for "Goodbye," from his EP Promise. Directed by Czar Campos, and shot in Kyoto, it's a prequel to his previous music video for "40 Winks," which was rather mysterious.

Beware the suitcase. Take a look:

Yes! You can make music out of sushi, plants and McNuggets.

Spazzkid uses the Makey Makey to play "Lovers" on some really random objects.

Whoa. Did you know that you can make music out of sushi? Out of houseplants? Out of cats? Out of a plastic ass? Check out this dope video of our friend Mark Redito, aka Spazzkid, using a device called the Makey Makey to create a rendition of his track "Lovers" from some really random objects:

'Promise EP' by Spazzkid

New four-track EP from Los Angeles-based electronic producer

Mark Redito is a Los Angeles-based electronic producer and songwriter who makes music under the moniker Spazzkid. I was a big fan of his debut album Desire, and gobbled up all of his subsequent releases and remixes. His recently released EP Promise is a nice little four-track synth-heavy slice of cool, described as Mark's attempt to explore more "uptempo, dancefloor-ready arrangements structured into pop songs."

Music Video: Tokyo loneliness in Spazzkid's "40 Winks"

"Loneliness in a crowded city. A girl is abandoned with a mysterious suitcase."

I'm a big fan of electronic musician (and former Angry Reader of the Week) Mark Redito, also known as Spazzkid. He recently released the official music video for "40 Winks," one of my favorite tracks for his album Desire. Four months in the making, and shot entirely in Tokyo, it's a gorgeous, mysterious and mesmerizing accompaniment to the song. Check it out:

New Music: Desire by Spazzkid

Check it out. I've been enjoying the hell out of Desire, the recently released new album from Mark Redito, who makes electronic music as Spazzkid. I get a lot of music coming across my desk, and this was one of those records I instantly took a liking to. It's got this gorgeous, extra chill, dreamlike quality that's been haunting me (in a good way) long after I hit pause. Here's a preview of the album:
