On Thursday, a judge sentenced former Oklahoma City police officer Daniel Holtzclaw to 263 years in prison, the full amount recommended by a jury, for the rape and sexual assault of eight women and girls.

Holtzclaw was accused of committing sex crimes against thirteen Black women. He was convicted in December on 18 of 36 counts of first-degree rape, second-degree rape, sexual battery, forcible oral sodomy, procuring lewd exhibition, indecent exposure, burglary and stalking.

Prosecutors argued that Holtzclaw, who is white and Japanese, specifically used his position and power as a law enforcement officer to target Black women in a low-income neighborhood and intimated them into keeping his crimes a secret. He was convicted of offenses involving eight of the women.

A former Oklahoma City police officer faces more than 200 years in prison after being convicted Thursday of raping and sexually victimizing eight women while in the job. He was accused of assaulting or raping 13 women, all black, ages 17 to 58, from low-income neighborhoods.

He was found guilty of eighteen of the most serious counts involving eight of the thirteen women who had accused him.

The former star college football player cried openly in the courtroom as the verdict was being read.

20-year-old Kevin Jun was one of five teens (he was 17 at the time) who were rounded up at a party in March 2011 by Fort Lee police officers, taken to the station, then forgotten and left locked outside in a police van for fifteen hours. They were stuck there with no food or water, no bathroom and no way to call out. As temperatures dipped into the 20s, Jun says he was only wearing a t-shirt.

Three of those teens filed a lawsuit against the Fort Lee Police Department and over a dozen officers, and will receive $120,000 each under a settlement reached with the department.

Adam Kim, Liam Eisenberg and Kevin Jun were among over dozen teens who were rounded up and placed in a police van when cops broke up a house party in March 2011. According to their complaint, five remained in the van while officers took the others into the station... and never came back. The five teens, who were mostly Asian, were left behind were locked in overnight. They also allege that the cops called them racial epithets.

Somebody f*%ked up. So it wasn't a big surprise when these guys sued, alleging that the officers intentionally inflicted emotional distress, were negligent and showed racial bias.

Cop fired after off-duty bar brawl

The fight was set off when the officer was called a racial slur.

Damn. Last month in Michigan, a veteran police officer was fired for his role in an off-duty parking lot bar brawl. Bad cop behavior. Big whoop. But it might also interest you to know that the cop is of Asian descent, and the fight was set off because someone called him a racial slur: Slur toward former officer led to fight.

Jason Cooper, a 17-year veteran of the Belding Police Department, was dismissed after an internal investigation found he had "violated police procedure and policies" in an altercation at Grattan Irish Pub in Grattan Township.

The whole thing started when a patron, Ryan Pethers, was reportedly asked to leave the bar because of "unruly behavior." Cooper happened to walk out at the same time, when the two exchanged words. Things apparently got physical when Pethers called Cooper a racial slur:

Man files excessive force lawsuit over Alabama traffic stop

Some news from earlier this month... In Alabama, a Hyundai employee has filed a federal lawsuit against local police, claiming that officers beat and used a Taser on him while he was handcuffed during a traffic stop last fall: South Korean man files excessive force lawsuit against Prattville police.

Chang Ho Lee, who is from South Korea and works at the Hyundai Motor plant in Montgomery, filed an excessive force lawsuit against he city of Prattville and five police officers in U.S. District Court in Birmingham earlier this month.

According to the lawsuit, Lee was driving home on September 22 when he was pulled over by police for running a red light. Suspected of driving under the influence, he performed both a field sobriety test and a breathalyzer -- and passed. That's when he says officers cursed at him, took him to the ground, tased him, and struck him while he was in cuffs:

Kevin Jun was one of five teens who were rounded up at a Fort Lee house party, brought to police headquarters in the back of a police van, and promptly forgotten about and left in there for fifteen hours -- locked in the vehicle without food, water, bathroom facilities or warm clothing. Whoops.

Jun has filed a lawsuit against the Fort Lee Police Department and about a dozen officers, alleging that his civil rights were violated when he was falsely arrested, unlawfully detained and left to rot in that police van. On top of that, cops at the scene apparently used racial slurs to refer to the Asian Americans.

NYPD accused of anti-gay violence in Brooklyn incident

In New York City, three gay men are accusing the NYPD of homophobia and harassment, saying they were called anti-gay slurs, assaulted and wrongly arrested in a confrontation with officers last week: Brooklyn Police Beat Gay Man and Use Homophobic Slurs, Victim and Friends Say.

26-year-old Josh Williams says that he and two friends, Ben Collins and Antonio Maenza, were walking past the 79th Precinct police station when an officer accused one of the men of urinating against the station house and threw him against a squad car. During the ordeal, the men were pepper sprayed, handcuffed and called homophobic slurs.

Oakland police puts the wrong man on its "Most Wanted" list, detains him for three days... then brags about it.

What the hell, police man? Get this. A man has filed a lawsuit against the Oakland Police Department for putting him on the list of the city's "Most Wanted Criminals" -- even though he wasn't actually wanted for anything -- and detaining him for three days without charges: Police Kept Man on 'Most Wanted' List for Months Even Though He Wasnt Wanted for Anything: Lawsuit.

Chau Van discovered that his name and photo were published in a feature on Oakland's most wanted. When his lawyer got in touch with police, they admitted that there was no arrest warrant. But when Van showed up at the police to clear his name, he was held for 72 hours and then released without being charged.

Here's the best part. The Oakland Police Department then released a statement saying that, in a win for justice, they had successfully taken one of the city's most wanted suspects off the street!
