Hey Los Angeles! Kollabration LA 2016, this year's Southern California edition of the world famous Asian American talent show, presents an evening of live music, entertainment, and community. Six up-and-coming local performers -- Jessica Louise, Timothy John Band, Matt Almodiel, Leo Xia, Jackie Chao and Ruth & the Library -- will vie for the chance to compete at the national Kollaboration Star finale.

The evening will also include special musical performances from Paul Dateh, Clara C and last year's Kollaboration Star winner Peter Chung, as well as comedy from Voltron and the UCB Improv Super Team. And you do not want to miss our pal Jenny Yang defending her title from last year's Lip Sync Battle.

Kollaboration Star 2015

It all comes down to this. You are invited to Kollaboration Star 2015. The world famous Asian American talent show presents it annual finale showcase featuring an amazing lineup of up-and-coming Asian American artists from around the country, as well as guest performances from The Kinjaz and ARCHIS.

This year's show also features an epic collab medley featuring music from MC Jin, Travis Atreo, and members of OG Asian American pop groups Kai and One Vo1ce performing their classic hits. All hosted by Beau Sia. Whaaaat. It's happening Saturday, November 15 at the Aratani Theatre in Little Tokyo.

Known for producing its world-famous Asian American talent show, Kollaboration is a non-profit organization that supports Asian/Pacific Islander Americans who are pursuing their passions in the creative fields.

You are invited to Kollaboration's first-ever leadership conference, EMPOWER, featuring speakers, panels and workshops with leaders and professionals at the top of their game. Attendees will be able to explore a variety of creative career paths, industries, and best practices to apply to making their dreams a reality.

It's happening Saturday, August 29 at the Japanese American National Museum in Los Angeles.

Hey LA! Kollaboration Los Angeles is back! It's happening Saturday, June 27 at the Los Angeles Theatre Center, with an afterparty at the Continental Club.

Los Angeles! Make some plans. The world-famous Asian American talent show Kollaboration celebrates 15 years of Asian American entertainment and community, returns to its roots and closes out the year with the Kollaboration Star 2014. The show, hosted by Jenny Yang and Jimmy O. Yang, will feature six talented up-and-coming artists from around the country, as well as guest performances from Alfa, Dan AKA Dan, Kaba Modern, Nancy Lee and Run River North. It's happening Saturday, November 15 at the Wilshire Ebell Theatre.

Asian American Talent Showcase at the Rosslyn Spectrum Theatre in Arlington



Heads up, D.C.! You are invited to the 5th annual Kollaboration D.C. talent showcase and competition. Six finalists will compete to see who gets to go the finals in L.A. The night will be hosted by former D.C. champ and spoken word artist G. Yamazawa, Jr., and includes a guest performance from DanAKADan. It's happening on Saturday, June 28 at the Spectrum Theater. 2014 Kollaboration Auditions

The world-famous Asian American talent show competition is holding auditions for the upcoming city show season, running from April to August across the United States. Each city show winner has the chance to be one of six finalists to compete in the grand finale show Kollaboration Star in Los Angeles in November.

Featuring Drunken Tiger with T Yoon Mirae & Bizzy



Kollaboration, the world-famous Asian American talent show competition returns to Los Angeles for Kollaboration Star 2013. Six talented, up-and-coming finalists will showcase their talents and vie for a $20,000 prize. It's going down this Saturday, November 16 at the Pasadena Civic Auditorium.

Hosted by David So, the evening's guest performers include comedian Paul PK Kim, dancer Mike Song & beatboxer KRNFX, singer/songwriter David Choi and a special one-hour performance by Korean hip hop royalty Drunken Tiger with T Yoon Mirae and Bizzy. It's going to be quite a show.

San Francisco! KollaborationSF is holding an open mic event at the Pa'ina Lounge on Thursday, September 19th. It's free for all with the suggestion of a two food or drink minimum. Also, if you're a performer, there's still a chance for you to take the stage that night:

2013 Kollaboration New York Auditions

Do you have what it takes to be the next Kollaboration Star? Kollaboration is constantly on the lookout for the nation's top performers, hidden talents and undiscovered superstars. If you're in New York, and you want to show the world what you've got, Kollaboration New York is currently accepting audition applications for performers of all mediums (song, dance, spoken word, etc). This is it! Kollaboration, the world-famous Asian American community talent showcase, presents its all new show, Kollaboration Star 2012 - The Finale, as part of its collaboration with the Asian lifestyle cable network Mnet. It's happening Friday, November 16 at the Alex Theatre in Glendale, California.

Mnet followed the Kollaboration movement to twelve local competitions around the country, filming the shows and their winners for an original television series, Kollaboration Star 2012. From these winners, six semi-finalists will be selected by a public online poll and one finalist will be chosen to represent their cities at the finale, which will ultimately air on Mnet.

Monsters Calling Home is my new favorite band.

Granted, I have not heard much of their music. But I always walk away from Kollaboration shows feeling like I just discovered my favorite new act I'd never heard of before, and on Saturday night, they wowed the crowd with their raw, understated and heartfelt performance. A little Googling turned up this video of the band performing a tune called "Growing Up":
