Karen Chee's Guide for Celebrating Heritage Month

'Late Night with Seth Meyers' writer offers some helpful DOs and DON'Ts for white people.



As you may know, May is Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month. To celebrate the occasion properly, Late Night with Seth Meyers recently invited writer Karen Chee to share a short list of helpful Dos and Don'ts for white people who would like to join in on the Heritage Month fun.

For instance, the first one on her list is a microagression classic: "Don't ask me where I'm really from!" Unfortunately, people still need to hear this one. "Because when I say I'm from a suburb of San Francisco, I can tell you're disappointed," Chee says. "Asian American people are descendants of many different countries, which is just a polite way of saying number two. Don't say 'Ni Hao' to me."

The 'Silicon Valley' star comes clean on 'Conan.'



Comedian and Silicon Valley star Kumail Nanjiani was back as a guest on Conan on Monday, sharing stories about doodoo and Beyonce. He was recounting a childhood memory of a kid who pooped in his pants at a birthday party, which is always fun, but was then suddenly inspired to come clean with his own recent story about crapping his pants... like, two years ago, as an adult.

TLC's 'All About Sex' is all about sex.



Comedian Margaret Cho is getting a late-night talk show! And it's all about sex. That's what it's called.

According to Variety, Cho will co-host TLC's All About Sex, a weekly late-night panel-style talk show focusing on "all aspects of sex in American culture." She'll be joined by co-hosts comedian Heather McDonald, actress Marissa Jaret Winokur and sex/relationship counselor Tiffanie Davis Henry.

ACV's CineVue presents The Joy Dunk Club



This one's for Jeremy Lin fans... The Joy Dunk Club (Best. Name. Ever.), hosted by Asian CineVision's CineVue, is a new web-based roundtable video talk show about everybody's favorite Asian American NBA star.

Created and hosted by Terry Park of Hyphen magazine, each show will feature smart, energetic, "deceptively quick" analysis from folks like Keith Chow of the Asian American comics anthologies Secret Identities and Shattered, Ren Hsieh of the APIA sports podcast Dat Winning, Joyce Yin of Bulls-centric blog Hard Hat Lunchpail, and other special guests, breaking down Jeremy's game performance and weighing in on the larger cultural phenomenon of "Linsanity."

Joy Dunk Club will be live-streamed and recorded on CineVue Online's YouTube channel [EDIT: This Tuesday's episode will be streamed on host Terry Park's YouTube channel.], where followers can ask real-time questions for the panelists via YouTube or Twitter (hashtag #joydunkclub).

You can catch the inaugural show on Tuesday, January 8, 8pm PST/11pm EST, right after the Rockets/Lakers game. No Lin puns allowed.
