College Administrator Placed on Leave for Defacing Mural

Things to Know From Angry Asian America

Bellevue College administrator placed on leave for altering display on Japanese American incarceration
A Bellevue College vice president has been placed on administrative leave for altering a mural of two Japanese American children in a World War II incarceration camp by removing a reference to anti-Japanese agitation by Eastside businessmen. Gayle Colston Barge, vice president of institutional advancement, is on paid administrative leave "as a result of her actions, and while we process the impact of this incident on our community," according to a statement from Bellevue's president.

Coronavirus is coming to get these little white kids.

Coronavirus rumors lead some parents to keep kids home from school
In Southern California, freaked out parents at a Newport Beach elementary school are reportedly keeping their children home amid demands that the school district examine new transfer students for coronavirus infection. A rumor has apparently spread among parents that several new students -- possibly from foreign countries affected by the contagion -- are on their way to Newport Coast Elementary. Cue the pandemic panic.

Conan O'Brien Needs a Friend: Ali Wong
Ali Wong feels very new about being Conan O'Brien's friend. The Baby Cobra comedian joins Conan on his podcast to talk about her father's love of pajama pants, why travel is the hardest part of stand-up, the mysterious metrics of Netflix, and maintaining her strong sense of Asian American identity.

Quibi Sets "Woke" Japanese Game Show 'Let's Go Atsuko!'
Comedian Atsuko Okatsuka, one of the funniest people I know, is bringing her twerk-friendly comedy to Quibi with her woke Japanese game show appropriately titled Let's Go Atsuko! In the new series, Game master Okatsuka will lead two civilian contestants through the surreal universe inside her grandma's fridge. In every episode, each contestant -- perhaps unwisely -- will tell Okatsuka one thing they love and one thing they fear. These facts can and will be used against them to create tailor-made challenges that test the players' "street smarts." I guess I need to figure out what Quibi is.

Steven Yeun already has a new job after 'The Walking Dead'

Yeun was back on 'Conan' to debrief his departure from 'The Walking Dead.'

It's been a pretty big week for Steven Yeun. Sunday kicked off with the much-hyped (and now very much likely spoiled -- sorry) death of his beloved character Glenn on The Walking Dead. Since then he's been making the post-mortem rounds, including a stop back on Conan to hang out with his old pal and debrief his high-profile departure from AMC's popular zombie drama -- and what comes next.

It turns out that Steven already has a new job to follow-up his exit from The Walking Dead. That was quick. Steven's got a sweet new gig as Conan O'Brien's rehearsal stand-in. Here's the behind-the-scenes footage.

Comedian Aparna Nancherla performs on 'Conan'

"Immediately turns into a dark one-woman show that no one agreed to attend."

Standup comedian Aparna Nancherla (recently named one of Variety's "Top Ten Comics to Watch for 2016") performed a set on Conan the other night, talking about Netflix, depression and dating, among other things. According to Aparna, models are self-esteem pickpockets -- walk by one, and within seconds, you feel terrible.

"I literally knew I was gay before I knew I was Asian."

Comedian Joel Kim Booster performs standup on 'Conan.'

New York writer and standup comedian Joel Kim Booster performed on Conan the other night and kicked ass. He talked about, among other things, the challenges of growing up as a Korean American adoptee in the Midwest, which Joel explains is "just as racist as the South; it just has none of the personality."

That Time Kumail Nanjiani Crapped His Pants

The 'Silicon Valley' star comes clean on 'Conan.'

Comedian and Silicon Valley star Kumail Nanjiani was back as a guest on Conan on Monday, sharing stories about doodoo and Beyonce. He was recounting a childhood memory of a kid who pooped in his pants at a birthday party, which is always fun, but was then suddenly inspired to come clean with his own recent story about crapping his pants... like, two years ago, as an adult.

Steven Yeun and Conan O'Brien went to Korea and made a K-pop music video

And other epic Korean adventures.

As you may have heard, late night talk show host Conan O'Brien recently took a trip to South Korea after receiving a nice letter and box of snacks -- let's be real, no one can say no to Korean snacks -- from his number one Korean fan. The resulting show aired on Saturday night, and it's an epic adventure featuring food, martial arts, video games, k-pop, terrible pronunciation, Steven Yeun and the Demilitarized Zone.

Here are some highlights from Conan's trip to the Land of the Morning Calm:

Ice Cube, Kevin Hart and Conan school a student driver

'Conan' staffer Diana Chang gets the most unhelpful driving lesson ever.

Diana Chang, who works on the staff of Conan, is getting her driver's license. And because he purportedly likes to help his staff, Conan O'Brien strapped into the passenger seat to give Diana some pointers. Along the way, they hook up with some homies -- Ice Cube and Kevin Hart -- purchase a pinata and pick up some weed.

As a driving lesson, it all turns out to be fairly unhelpful, but it makes for a pretty funny segment.

'Fresh Off The Boat' star talks about onscreen kissing, bad sleepy acting and Baby Mentalist on 'Conan.'

Last night, Fresh Off The Boat Randall Park was a guest on Conan, where he shared a few stories about locking lips with his Interview co-star James Franco, his terrible first job acting in a commercial for Chinese liver pills, and starring alongside his daughter Ruby in the now-classic webseries Baby Mentalist. Stuntman Steven Ho teaches Conan combat under pressure

Hammer-fist training, parking lot assaults and a bedroom attack.

Our favorite Hollywood stuntman Steven Ho was back on Conan last week demonstrating some awesome stuntman stuff and doing what he does best: kicking Conan O'Brien's ass -- for our television enjoyment! During this appearance, Steven sets up several combat scenarios to take Conan out of his comfort zone.

Steven Yeun and Conan Go to the Korean Spa

A painfully hilarious adventure of sweating, touching and nudity.

It was an adventure that could only happen in Koreatown. The Walking Dead star Steven Yeun recently accompanied Conan O'Brien to film a hilarious segment exploring the wondrous haven known as Wi Spa in Los Angeles. The Korean spa, baby! There was lots of sweating, lots of awkward touching, and lots of painful scouring of skin -- mostly while completely naked. Best of all, they made some new friends.

Steven Yeun Wants You to Know: Not All Asians Look Alike!

Also: Steven is fed up 'The Walking Dead' nitpickers.

One of our favorite dudes, Steven Yeun, was back on Conan the other night promoting the second half of season five of The Walking Dead. Turns out that Steven, who plays Glenn on the hit AMC zombie drama, is a Redditor on a mission to dispel the widely held misperception that all Asians look alike. All Asians do not look like Steven, and vice versa. And he's brought along some photos to back it up.

Comedian Alingon Mitra performs on 'Conan'

"People say figure skating is the gayest sport but I think it's football."

Last Comic Standing alum Aligon Mitra was a guest on Conan Monday night with a funny short set joking about, among other things, the Pope, "gay" sports and so-called "first world problems." He says he doesn't know why people complain about first world problems; after all, that's where he lives.

Bruce Lee never thought about the guy with the Groupon

Comedian Ian Edwards asks the hard questions about 'Fists of Fury' and 'Enter the Dragon'

Fellow Bruce fans, have you ever watched a Bruce Lee fight scene and felt a little sorry for one of the many guys whose ass got kicked? I have. So has this guy. Check out this hilarious short, animated by Dilara Karabas, in which comedian Ian Edwards asks some of the hard questions about Fists of Fury and Enter the Dragon:

Comedian Hari Kondabolu performs on 'Conan'

Droppin' knowledge about colonialism, chess and talking snakes

In case you missed it, our old comedian pal Hari Kondabolu made a return visit as a guest on Conan last night, dropping a kickass set about colonialism. Yes, that's right. Colonialism. And Hari Kondabolu is, for my money, the best anti-colonialist comedian working today. Listen up as Hari shares why you should be able to back up your opinions with logic and evidence, rather than rhyming cliches:

Steven Ho stabs Conan with a samurai sword

It gets messy.

Hollywood stuntman Steven Ho, whose appearances on Conan are always a blast, was back on the show last night for another round of hilarious, senseless violence. And this time, things got bloody.

Conan Takes A Samurai Sword To The Gut

Over the years, Steven has inflicted all kinds of asskicking on host Conan O'Brien -- punches, groin kicks, head butts, swords, two-by-fours, and more -- for entertainment's sake. For his most recent stunt, Steven stabs Conan in the stomach with a samurai sword. With Conan attached to a "blood" tube, it gets... messy.

Jhené Aiko performs "The Worst" on Conan

Super smooth track from her debut album Sail Out

Wow. Love this. Check out red-hot singer Jhené Aiko doing her thing the other night on Conan, dropping a killer performance of "The Worst" from her debut EP Sail Out. Just plain lovely. The moody tune melts your heart, but my favorite part is the rap bridge, which is downright deadly. Take a look:

Do you think Steven Yeun is sexy? Then you must see this.

The Walking Dead star shares a fanny pack-tastic photo from his super-dorky past.

Heads up, fans of the undead. The Walking Dead's third season resumes this Sunday. In celebration of the midseason premiere, the cast of the hit zombie drama appeared on Conan the other night. Here are some of the highlights involving Steven Yeun, who plays our man Glenn in the zombie apocalypse.

My favorite moment has to Steven sharing the amazing vintage fanny-pack-tastic photo of himself, in an attempt to disprove his sexiness. Nice try. That actually makes him more sexy. Check it out below:

George Takei shows off his badass push-up skills on Conan

Uncle George does a hundred push-ups a day

More evidence that George Takei is a badass -- now more than ever. What's his secret? Push-ups, apparently. Uncle George's daily badass regimen includes doing 100 pushups every morning. The still-spry 76-year-old Star Trek icon was a guest on Conan the other night and showed off his mad push-up skills. Behold:

Sari Time! Aziz Ansari's Saris make the perfect holiday gift

Aziz endorses his new stylish new product

Comedian/Emmy-eligible actor Aziz Ansari recently appeared on Conan to endorse an exciting new clothing line: Aziz Ansari's Saris. Give your traditional Indian wear that extra flair -- Aziz's face! Sure, there are plenty of other celebrity-endorsed saris on the market, but not one of those celebrities have the word "sari" in their name. Don't mess with the fake stuff. This is the real deal:

Yuna performs beautiful music on Conan

Malaysian indie pop singer/songwriter performs a track from her latest album.

I rather enjoy the talents of Malaysian indie pop singer/songwriter Yuna, who makes some really beautiful, enchanting music. She recently released her latest full-length album Nocturnal, and appeared as a guest on Conan last night to perform her song "Rescue." It was pretty marvelous. Take a look:
