Angry Gift Guide: 'A Picture of You' Limited Edition DVD

"A serious movie about life that gets sideswiped in the supermarket parking lot by a funny movie about death."

Here's a cool gift idea for the indie film lover in your life...

Writer/director JP Chan's award-winning feature film debut A Picture of You, starring Jo Mei, Andrew Pang and Jodi Long, is described as "a serious movie about life that gets sideswiped in the supermarket parking lot by a funny movie about death." The movie is now available on DVD exclusively from Amazon.

Estranged siblings Jen and Kyle travel from New York City to rural Pennsylvania to pack up the home of their recently deceased mother. While there, they inadvertently make a shocking discovery that turns their world upside-down. It's a story about family, loss, secrets, letting go, and starting anew. I'm a big fan of this film.

'A Picture of You' opens in New York City this Friday

June 20-26 at AMC Loews Village 7

Hey, film fans! If you're in New York City, I highly recommend checking out the theatrical premiere of A Picture of You, opening this Friday, June 20 at the AMC Loews Village 7 in Manhattan. Written and directed by my friend J.P. Chan, and starring Jo Mei, Andy Pang, Teyonah Parris, Lucas Dixon and Jodi Long, it's a great little indie family comedy/drama about sibling squabbles and family secrets.

This is JP's first feature film. I've been a fan of his short films for years, and I was really excited when he finally got around to making a full-length film. I wasn't disappointed. Here's the official trailer:
