Adam WarRock Donation Drive 2015

Support an independent artist making overly enthusiastic hip hop.

Our friend Eugene Ahn makes cool, fun, smart, geeky hip hop as emcee Adam WarRock, regularly churning really great music and making it available for free to all on his website. Once a year, he opens up the donation jar and asks folks to pitch in to support his art and all that free content. So it's that time of year again.

For the fifth annual Adam Warrock Donation Drive, all donors who give any amount of money will receive the following rewards, as explained by Eugene:

'Gifted Student' by Adam WarRock

Adam WarRock makes indie hip hop about pop culture, and his latest album kicks ass.

Our friend Eugene Ahn, who makes kickass, super-fun geeky hip hop as emcee Adam WarRock, just dropped a new album. The eight-track EP Gifted Student, produced by Mikal kHill with guest vocals by kHill, Sulfur and Mega Ran, is some seriously good shit -- some of the best rapping he's ever done.

And come on, you can't beat that vintage album cover photo, courtesy of Eugene's mom.

Adam WarRock's 24 Hour Rap-A-Thon, October 18

Proceeds will benefit RAINN, the nation's largest anti-sexual violence organization.

Heads up. Our friend Eugene Ahn, who makes nerdy hip hop as Adam WarRock, will be doing a 24-Hour Rap-A-Thon this Saturday, October 18 to benefit RAINN.org, which fights sexual violence and assault. For one straight day, he'll be writing, recording and posting as many songs as he can -- all for a good cause.

Last time Adam WarRock did this, he made 16 songs in 24 hours. With the help of people's generous pledges and donations, he raised enough money to replace some stolen equipment and donated the rest to charity.

The last fundraiser was so successful, he's doing it again. This time, Adam WarRock is going to be raising money directly for RAINN, the nation's largest anti-sexual violence charity. You can support him by pledging a per-song or lump sum donation to the Rap-A-Thon.

Eugene explains how it works:

Listen to Adam WarRock's "Marvelous" ode to your new favorite superhero

Free track inspired by Marvel Comics' Pakistani American teenage superhero

NICE. Our friend Eugene Ahn, aka geek emcee extraordinaire Adam WarRock, raps about comic books, television shows, and other pop culture goodness. This week, he's releasing a handful of free tracks inspired by All-New Marvel NOW! titles, and they're some of the best songs he's done in a long time.

In addition to tracks about The Silver Surfer and Moon Knight (whaaa?), day three is dedicated to one of my favorite comic books of the moment, Ms. Marvel. "Marvelous" is Adam WarRock's ode to Pakistani American teenage superhero Kamala Khan, who is just plain awesome. Check it out:

The Middle of Nowhere by Adam WarRock

The internet's pop cultural emcee drops his third full-length album.

Nerdcore. Geek music. Whatever the heck you want to call it. Your favorite pop cultural emcee Eugene Ahn, aka Adam WarRock, who makes hip hop about awesome stuff, just dropped his latest full-length studio album The Middle of Nowhere. And indeed, it's pretty awesome.

While the album puts Eugene's signature fanboy-friendly flow front-and-center, and features guest vocals from MC Frontalot, Louis Logic, Schaffer the Darklord and more, The Middle of Nowhere feels like next-level Adam WarRock -- still as nerdy as a trip to the comic book shop, but all growns up and deeply personal.

Here's the album preview on Bandcamp:

Check it out. Some new music from the mind of emcee Adam WarRock, who make smart hip hop for the pop culture savvy. He just dropped his latest EP, City Beautiful, a more personal and introspective album, with beats by Rob Viktum. He describes it as his "least nerdy" album, and I'm digging it.
