Hot dog! On Monday, Miki Sudo successfully defended her championship belt, winning the women's division of the annual Nathan's Famous Fourth of July International Hot Dog-Eating Contest in Coney Island.

The 30-year-old competitive eater from Las Vegas scarfed down 38 1/2 hot dogs and buns in ten minutes to claim the coveted chomp-ionship title for the third straight year. She also pockets a $10,000 prize.

Sonya Thomas successfully defends hot dog eating title

A post-Independence Day gluttony update... On Thursday, Sonya Thomas, aka "The Black Widow" of Competitive Eating, successfully defended her title at the annual Fourth of July hot dog eating contest at Coney Island: Joey Chestnut, Sonya Thomas Defend Titles At Nathan's Coney Island Hot Dog Eating Contest.

45-year-old, 100-pound Thomas devoured 36 and three-quarters hot dogs and buns in ten minutes, barely out-eating challenger Juliet Lee, and picking up her third consecutive title in the women's competition at Nathan's Famous Hot Dog Eating Contest. The Black Widow does it again.

Meanwhile, reigning men's champ Joey Chestnut scarfed down 69 hot dogs to set a new world record. It was his seventh straight title, besting rival Takeru Kobayashi's previous held record of six consecutive titles. Isn't that great and not gross at all? God bless America.
