In case you were wondering: the Asians on the 2013 TIME 100

TIME recently published the 2013 TIME 100, its annual list profiling The 100 Most Influential People in the World, from "artists and leaders to pioneers, titans and icons." Whether or not you can quantify an individual's influence, and whether or not you agree with what makes them influential, this list is always an interesting reflection of the times. (Pictured above: Bollywood film star and activist Aamir Kahn.) For the purposes of this blog, some noteworthy personalities on this year's list include:

Who are the most influential men of 2012? Jeremy Lin has made the short list of candidates for AskMen's Top 49 Most Influential Men of 2012.

Overall, there are very few Asian Americans on the list (suprise), but I did spot Aziz Ansari and Gary Locke sprinkled among the names. Vote by October 8 to determine who gets a spot on the final 49.

Meanwhile, Jeremy, who famously slept on former teammate Landry Fields' couch, is still trying to sleep on his teammates' couches.
