How 'Quantico' completely wasted Li Jun Li

When ABC's Quantico returns for its second season on September 25, one familiar face won't be seen among everyone's favorite group of new FBI agents.

Li Jun Li confirmed late last month on Twitter that she'd be joining the cast of NBC's Chicago PD, which means Quantico fans will likely never see her character Iris Chang ever again.

To be perfectly honest, it's unlikely fans will even notice Iris' absence, which is a shame. While originally billed as "a flirtatious, beautiful Queen Bee type" who "founded six startups while at USC," the Iris who showed up on our screens each week was bratty, combative, and ultimately forgettable. It continually seemed as if the writers' room had no idea what to do with her, and I have to wonder why that was so.

ABC confuses Priyanka Chopra with another Indian actress

ABC News apologizes to 'Quantico' star for 'Nightline' segment mistake



File under "You Had One Job." ABC apologized for making a goof this week when it confused Quantico star Priyanka Chopra with another Indian actress in a promo for Nightline. For the record, there is currently only one Indian lead actress on all of network television -- on ABC, for that matter -- and they still got it wrong.

Chopra was on Nightline to talk about her starring role on Quantico. However, during the introduction to the segment, the show mistakenly showed images of fellow Indian acdtress Yukta Mookhey, who was crowned Miss World in 1999, the year before Chopra won the title. Oops.

Here are the new scripted shows featuring actors of Asian descent. We counted.



The new fall television season is upon us, and with it, a big batch of new shows. How many of these new series feature Asian Americans? As you know, we like to keep track of such things. For those keeping score, here's a rundown of actors of Asian descent who are series regulars on new scripted network, cable and streaming shows premiering on the tubes this fall. (Not including renewed/returning shows or midseason debuts.)
