Father fatally struck by car in drunk driveway accident

Damn. Tragic story out of Southern California... Last Friday in Riverside, a 69-year-old man was struck and killed by an automobile while trying to prevent his daughter from driving drunk.

According to witnesses, 37-year-old Soukvilay Barton had been drinking when she became upset and tried to leave home. Her father, Bounmy Rajsombath, was standing behind her car, trying to talk her out of driving while intoxicated, when she backed out of the garage and struck him in the driveway, killing him.

Sikh gurdwara vandalized with racist graffiti

News of another hate crime out of Southern California... This week in Jurupa Valley, California, a Sikh house of worship was vandalized with hate speech: 'Terrorist' marked outside Sikh place of worship.

Sometime Monday night, some ignorant asshole spray-painted the word "terrorist" on the walls outside the Sikh Gurdwara of Riverside. This apparently isn't the first time the temple has been vandalized in its twenty-plus year history, but it's the first time the graffiti has involved hate speech.

The Riverside County Sheriff's Department is investigating the vandalism as a hate crime.
