In this BuzzFeed video, she explains why she doesn't date white guys, sharing a story and re-enacting a real-life encounter with one particularly acute case of yellow fever. Based on a true story...

Asians React to Yellowface

In this BuzzFeed video, we offer some thoughts on Hollywood's greatest racist hits.

Not that we needed a reminder of how friggin' racist Hollywood can be.... In this BuzzFeed video, Asians react to yellowface. They recently got some Asian American folks, including me and my pal Jenny Yang, to sit down, watch and react to various movie and TV clips in which white actors were made up to look like some form of "Asian," like Marlon Brando in Teahouse of the August Moon, Mickey Rooney in Breakfast and Tiffany's and more. I think we reacted pretty much as expected.

Chinese People Try Panda Express For The First Time

Taste testers of Chinese descent sample greatest hits from the fast food chain's menu.

Everybody knows that there's Chinese food... and then there's "Chinese food." If you don't know the difference, let me be the one to break it to you. Most of the stuff that is dished out and sold at your average strip mall Chinese takeout joint is nowhere to be found on menus in China. It's something else entirely.

The quintessential franchise version of "Chinese" cuisine is, of course, Panda Express. A staple of every mall food court, the ubiquitous fast food chain has had a hand in shaping America's palate for "Chinese" food. But what do Chinese people think about Panda Express?

In this BuzzFeed video, Chinese People Try Panda Express For The First Time. Taste testers of Chinese descent -- virgin tongues to the Panda's flavors -- sample and give their thoughts on Egg Rolls, Orange Chicken, Kung Pao Chicken, Chow Mein, and other greatest hits from the Panda Express menu.

Their reactions are interesting. Take a look:

Jenny Yang's Smartass Answers for Your Dumbass Questions

"Actually, I'm not that good at math."

Boom. Last month, BuzzFeed put a call out on Facebook for questions to use in a video feature called "Ask an Asian," in which our friend comedian Jenny Yang would answer people's questions about Asian Americans. They received almost 7,000 submissions, and a large bulk of the questions were less than spectacular.

So much ignorance out there. But hey, might as well turn all of that stupidity into fodder for a video. "Ask An Asian" has dropped, and Jenny's got lots of smartass answers for your dumbass questions. It's delightful.

Check it out:

1.08.2015

BuzzFeed turned to Facebook for questions to "Ask An Asian." You can probably guess what happened.

This comment thread is a big box of ignorance bust wide open.

I suppose this was inevitable. My good friend, comedian Jenny Yang is teaming up with BuzzFeed to produce an upcoming video called "Ask An Asian," in which she answers questions -- no doubt, with smarts and sass -- about Asian Americans. You know, the stuff you've always wanted to know, but maybe were afraid to ask.

Naturally, to gather some ideas to get them started, BuzzFeed Video posted a call for questions on its Facebook page. "Please reply in the comments with questions you have for Asians-Americans." Naturally, the comments were flooded with a truckload of predictably dumbass, ridiculous and/or racist questions.

Like I said, inevitable. Here is just a tiny sampling:
