Music Video: The plan goes to hell in Delta Rae's "Scared"
Directed by Lawrence Chen

This was released several weeks ago, but it's definitely worth sharing... Here's the music video for "Scared," the latest single from Delta Rae, directed by the super-talented Lawrence Chen. I'm a big fan of his work. This one's a fun, weird, crime caper-y tale with an intriguing cast of characters and a plan that goes to hell.

Chinese attorney granted posthumous law license
Hong Yen Chang was denied the right to practice law in California in 1890 because of his race.

This is awesome. On Monday, the California Supreme Court decided unanimously to grant a posthumous law license to a Chinese immigrant whose application was denied 125 years ago solely because of his race.
Chinese immigrant, denied law license in 1890, gets one posthumously
In 1890, Hong Yen Chang came to San Francisco and applied for a license to practice law to help his fellow Chinese immigrants. But the state Supreme Court said Chang, despite his New York state law license, was ineligible for the California bar because of "persons of the Mongolian race" were not entitled to citizenship.
This week, in a nine-page ruling, the state court -- which includes three Asian American justices -- repudiated the 1890 decision. While the court said the ruling could not undo history, it was "past time to acknowledge that the discriminatory exclusion of Chang from the State Bar of California was a grievous wrong."

'Fresh Off The Boat': The Reality Show?
Casting an Asian American family for the "reality version of Fresh Off The Boat."

All right. Many of us hoped that if Fresh Off The Boat was a hit, it might lead to opening the door for more Asian Americans on television. I'm not quite sure this is what we had in mind...
I recently received an email from Jonny B, a casting producer for Crybaby Media, a content development and creative packaging firm that specializes in reality television and docuseries. They were apparently approached by a major network looking for the "reality version of Fresh Off The Boat." Whaaaaat.

Fan touches LeBron's ball, immediately regrets it
Courtside fan called for interference after knocking ball away from LeBron James

17,000+ fans in attendance at the Amway Center. Guess which one LeBron James wanted to murder? At last night's game between the Cleveland Cavaliers and the Orlando Magic, one courtside fan got called for interference after getting a touch too interactive and messing with LeBron's game.
Fan Called for Interference After Knocking Ball Away from LeBron James
In the fourth quarter, James tried to save a loose ball from going out of bounds, but was unable to get a handle on it when the fan, sitting courtside, knocked it away. LeBron, understandably, was not cool with this. After reviewing the play, officials called interference on the fan and awarded the ball to Cleveland.
Fans, don't be this guy. Do not touch the frickin' ball:

#KeepAdamHome: Stop Adam Crapser's Deportation Now
Cross-posted from 18 Million Rising

In 1979, Adam Crapser arrived in the United States as a Korean adoptee. Accompanied by his older sister, Adam's life in this country quickly became a nightmare.
First adopted by the Wright family in Michigan, Adam found himself the victim of physical abuse. In 1986 and without completing Adam's naturalization papers, the Wrights relinquished their parental rights to county services in an effort to "rehome" the adopted siblings. As wards of the state, the county separated Adam from his sister and sent him to live in a group home.
One year into life in the group home, Adam was adopted the by Thomas and Dolly-Jean Crapser in Oregon who -- along with their biological children -- subjected Adam to unspeakable physical, emotional, and sexual abuse and torture. Four long years later, the Crapsers were arrested, charged, and plead guilty to multiple counts of child abuse, child sex abuse, and child rape.

After 'Fresh Off The Boat," join us for Fresh Off The Show
The Unofficial Live Online Post-Show, Tuesdays at 8:35PM PST on YouTube

Based on the numbers, it appears that America is watching Fresh Off The Boat. The ABC sitcom, starring your new favorite Asian American family, has been turning up some solid audience ratings since its premiere, even when up against some pretty heavy competition in its Tuesday time slot, including NCIS and The Voice.
In this week's episode, Eddie is excited to meet a new classmate -- another Chinese kid! -- played by guest star Albert Tsai (the breakout kid star of ABC's Trophy Wife). This could be a the beginning of a two-man Asian crew at Abraham Lincoln Middle School, but they soon learn that they have absolutely nothing in common.

Serious Owen Wilson must save his family from evil, lawless Asians.

For those who do not tire of seeing movies about white people in grave danger, check out this ludicrous trailer for the upcoming thriller No Escape. Now they have to hide from lots of bad, bad Asians. I hate it when that happens.
