Video: Motorist calls woman "Fucking Cambodian n**ger"

Things got real racist real fast on the streets of Sunnyvale.

Protip: If you get the feeling something racist is about to happen, it doesn't hurt to pull out your camera and start recording. This one comes to us from Sunnyvale, California, where a woman recorded a racist encounter with an asshole motorist who called her a "bitch" and a "fucking Cambodian n**ger."

Paula Nuguid says she riding her bike with her 9-year-old daughter, attempting to make a legal left turn, when a man in a Nissan Altima started honking at her and calling her a "bitch." She confronted the man, rolling up to his window and demanding, "How fucking dare you, you entitled white prick?"

"Oh, shut the fuck up," he cleverly retorted.

When Nuguid told him, "I can tell you're not from California," the man responded, "You fucking Cambodian n**ger, get out of here." Aaaaaaand there it is. Smile, asshole. You're about to become internet famous.

Nuguid posted video of the encounter on Facebook, saying "I hope his friends, family, and employer see this."

Trump's chief strategist has a problem with Asian immigration

Steve Bannon thinks there are too many Asian executives in Silicon Valley, cites fake stats to back it up.

So by now you've heard that Donald Trump has appointed Steve Bannon, professional white nationalist asshole, as his new chief strategist. If you know anything about the guy, it should come as no surprise that he believes, among many other shitty things, that there are way too many Asian tech execs in Silicon Valley.

Steve Bannon Suggests There Are Too Many Asian CEOs In Silicon Valley

The now-President-elect has famously and exhaustively promised to build a wall along the U.S. border with Mexico to keep people out, but has said that immigrants educated at elite universities can stay. But in remarks that have recently resurfaced from about a year ago, when Trump was a guest on the Breitbart News Daily radio show, Bannon intimated that he wouldn't stop with the foreign Ivy Leaguers.

During an exchange about immigration, Trump explained that he wanted to "keep our talented people in this country." But Bannon, executive chairman of the alt-right hub Breitbart News and purveyor of white supremacy and other shitty ideology, expressed dismay at the number of tech execs who are immigrants from Asia.

The Washington Post highlighted the exchange from last November, in which Trump said he was concerned that foreign students attending Ivy League schools have to return home because of U.S. immigration laws:

Mall security robot injures toddler

16-month-old Harwin Cheng was knocked down and run over by a robot security guard in Palo Alto.

Last week in Palo Alto, a young boy was knocked down and run over by a robot security guard at Stanford Shopping Center. Thankfully, the kid is okay, but his parents are mad as hell. Wait, did I just read that right?

Parents upset after Stanford Shopping Center security robot injures child

Yes, there are robot mall security guards. And their people skills are apparently not so great. Last Thursday, 16-month-old Harwin Cheng had a frightening collision with the Stanford Shopping Center's robot.

"The robot hit my son's head and he fell down facing down on the floor and the robot did not stop and it kept moving forward," Harwin's mom Tiffany Teng told ABC7. The robot ran over Harwin's right foot, causing it to swell, but luckily didn't break any bones. He also had a scrape on his leg from the incident.

Where are the Asian American executives at top tech firms?

New report says Silicon Valley companies are bypassing Asians for exec jobs.

Anyone familiar with the tech industry is well aware that Asian Americans are significantly represented within the ranks of Silicon Valley. However, according to a new study released this week, major technology companies like Google and Yahoo are far more inclined to hire Asian Americans as computer programmers than to promote them to become managers or executives. Raise your hand if you already knew this.

Study: Top tech firms bypassing Asian workers for exec jobs

Asian Americans tech workers make up roughly a third of the workforce at companies like Google, Yahoo and Facebook, but they are severely underrepresented in leadership positions, according to a report released Wednesday by the Ascend Foundation, a nonprofit organization focused on issues of Pan-Asian leadership.

The report, titled Hidden in Plain Sight: Asian American Leaders in Silicon Valley, analyzed 2013 data filed with the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission by five Silicon Valley companies -- Google, Yahoo, Intel, Hewlett-Packard and LinkedIn -- found that white employees had a massive advantage (surprise, surprise) over Asian Americans when it came to being promoted to the executive level.

HBO's 'Silicon Valley' is set in the world of tech startups

...so dude, where are all the Asians?

Oh snap! A comedy set in the world of tech startups by Mike Judge, writer/director of Office Space. Count me in. Just watched the trailer for HBO's Silicon Valley, which revolves around quirky characters navigating the high-tech gold rush of Silicon Valley. It's a milieu that's certainly ripe for comedy.

I'm pleased to see one of my favorite comedians Kumail Nanjiani in the cast... but yo, a show set in the Bay Area's tech industry? There should be waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay more Asians on this show. Check it out:

asian americans make up the majority of bay area tech jobs

Fom the department of things-we-already-knew... According to new Census Bureau data, Asian Americans make up half of the Bay Area's technology workforce: Asian workers now dominate Silicon Valley tech jobs.

The percentage of Asian high tech workers grew from 39 percent in 2000 to just more than 50 percent in 2010 in Santa Clara, San Mateo, Alameda, Contra Costa and San Francisco counties combined.

Of course, this also signaled a significant decrease in tech industry jobs for white, African American and Hispanic workers, with percentage declines across the board:
