Badass action figure reimagines Captain America as samurai

Samurai Captain America Meisho Manga Realization Action Figure by Bandai Tamashii Nations

What do you get when you mix Captain America with a samurai warrior? Wait, why would you do such a thing? It does not matter. It has been done. The Samurai Captain America Meisho Manga Realization Action Figure from Bandai Tamashii Nations re-imagines Marvel's star-spangled superhero as a samurai warrior.

Standing about 6 9/10-inches, Samurai Captain America features a distinctive winged helmet and scale armor inspired by Cap's traditional red, white and blue Nazi-kicking super-uniform, remixed by sculptor Takeyuki Takeya. His chest star emblem is removable and becomes a throwing star. The figure includes four optional hands, shield parts and sword parts.

The Marvel Samurai Captain America Meisho Manga Realization Action Figure will be available in February 2018. You can pre-order it now for $89.99 from Entertainment Earth.

Here are some more photos of the figure:

All of the Asian Star Wars Action Figures

A geeky portrait of every Asian action figure from the Star Wars saga.

Do you like Star Wars? Do you like Star Wars action figures? Our friend David Yeh really likes Star Wars action figures. He recently shared this awesome (and incredibly geeky) photo highlighting his collection of all the Asian characters -- yes, there have been a handful, major and laughably minor -- from across the entire Star Wars saga that have been produced over the years as action figures (including the recently released figures for Rose and Paige from the upcoming Last Jedi). There are only about a dozen, which, considering the massive number of Star Wars toys that have been produced in the last four decades, is not a lot.

Roll call, from left to right, with character and figure details:

First look at Kelly Marie Tran as a Star Wars action figure

Leaked photos reveal latest line of 'Last Jedi' toys.

Like we've said before, one of our obsessive preoccupations from now until the release of The Last Jedi will be any and all info and prom material pertaining to Rose Tico, one of the major new characters introduced in the new Star Wars movie, played by Kelly Marie Tran. And for action figure geeks like myself, this is a big one.

Thanks to Instagram user "swrogue507," the internet just got an early look at some toys from Episode VIII, reportedly found at a department store in Panama. These appear to be the first wave of Last Jedi 3.75-inch action figures from Hasbro, and may have accidentally hit the shelf about a month early at this particular store.

And so, we've got a look at the Hasbro 3.75" Rose figure:

This Hello Kitty x Mazinger Z mashup will save the world

Two classic Japanese pop culture icons collide for an awesome action figure collaboration.

This is what happens two classic Japanese pop culture icons collide. Bandai Tamashii Nations has created two incredible action figure collaborations combining, believe it or not, Hello Kitty and Mazinger Z.

Standing approximately four-inches tall, the Hello Kitty Mazinger Z Color Chogokin Die-Cast Metal Action Figure is Hello Kitty rocking a retro Mazinger Z metallic look with a mini pilot Hello Kitty finished in Koji Kabuto colors. The set includes a special display case and underwater-mode parts.

The Mazinger Z Chogokin Hello Kitty Color Version Die-Cast Metal Action Figure features Hello Kitty's iconic red ribbon where Mazinger Z's trademark chest piece usually rests. All of the Asians in Star Wars: Tasu Leech Action Figure

As seen in 'The Force Awakens,' the leader of the Kanjiklub gang get his own figure.

Yes! One of items on my Star Wars action figure wish list will soon be miiiiiiiine!

Some new images of soon-to-be-released Hasbro 3-3/4" Star Wars: The Force Awakens action figures have hit the web, and one of them is Tasu Leech, leader of the notorious Kanjiklub gang. Played by Indonesian actor Yayan Ruhian, he shows up in The Force Awakens to collect from that swindling scoundrel Han Solo. Honestly, he and that Raid crew were waaaaaay underused in the movie, but it was still cool to see him in the mix.

And now he's immortalized as an action figure:

But man, is it handsome.

Fund This: The Green Turtle Action Figure!

The star of 'The Shadow Hero' joins the Amazing Heroes retro-style action figure line

Gene Luen Yang and Sonny Liew's graphic novel The Shadow Hero resurrects an old, obscure Golden Age comic book hero, The Green Turtle, and re-imagines his origin story as the first Asian American superhero.

The book is fantastic, and I can't recommend it enough. If you're a fan of The Shadow Hero, and you're as geeky as I am, then you'll be pleased to hear that a Green Turle action figure is in the works. Yes!

Amazing Heroes is a series of 4.5" retro-style super hero action figures based on obscure comic book heroes of yesteryear, created by the Fresh Monkey Fiction. If you've never heard of characters like Stardust the Super-Wizard, The Black Terror or Silver Streak, I can't blame you. But they're part of a small collection of superheroes getting the action figure treatment -- and the Green Turtle has been included as part of the lineup.

They're currently in the middle of Kickstarter campaign to get the figures produced. Check it out:

An action figure for the ultimate Jeremy Lin fan

New images of Enterbay's 1/6-scale Jeremy Lin Real Masterpiece NBA figure

This is either really cool or really kind of frightening... Hong Kong-based Enterbay, which makes premium-quality, super-detailed, lifelike action figures -- including some really awesome Bruce Lee figures -- has unveiled a forthcoming Jeremy Lin figure as part of its Real Masterpiece 1/6-scale NBA collection.

The Jeremy Lin figure is expected to come with a magnetic basketball, a cloth outfit, alternate hands, alternate heads and more. I'm guessing it'll set you back around $300. Not sure when it'll be available -- Enterbay hasn't even listed the figure on its official site yet -- but a few retailers are already taking pre-orders.

This figure has been rumored for a while, but images only recently hit the internet. Check it out:

Goonies Data Retro Action Figure

Just like the classic Kenner action figures of yesteryear

Nice. Here's another one for your action figure collection. I'm really digging this super cool "ReAction figure" of Data from The Goonies by Funko and Super7. Data, of course, is the loveably brave, haphazardly tech-savvy treasure-hunting hero played Jonathan Ke Quan in the 1985 adventure movie classic.

The 3 3/4-inch figure features five points of articulation and includes a "Pinchers of Peril" chattering teeth accessory. It's not the most detailed Data figure out there -- that would probably be the 7-inch figure from Mezco -- but I love the retro modeling and packaging, like the classic Kenner figures of yesteryear.

You know I have interest in all things Bruce Lee. So of course I got a kick out of this. You say you have created a series of photos using a lifelike Bruce Lee action figure and household breakfast items? Count me in. In these awesome photos, Bruce chops, punches and kicks his way to a balanced breakfast.

The Walking Dead Glenn Action Figure

Get your very own Steven Yeun action figure. It comes with a broken bloody pipe.

Action figure fans! Last summer, we got our first glimpse at McFarlane Toys' forthcoming Walking Dead Glenn action figure, modeled after actor Steven Yeun, who plays television's favorite Asian American zombie apocalypse survivor on the hit AMC show. Here's a clearer look of the final Glenn figure, which is due out next month and features a couple of differing details than the original computer-generated prototype.

That's a pretty decent likeness, and some cool details, right down to the prison riot gear vest. The figure stands five inches tall, boasts 22 points of articulation, and includes handgun with leg holster, knife with hip sheath, broken bloody pipe and -- my favorite part -- an alternate head with bloodied face.
